Data Collected
When you create an account on cardistry.org, we collect your name, email address, and profile information you choose to provide. Account authentication is handled by Clerk, Inc. We also collect usage data such as pages visited and features used in order to improve the platform.
How We Use It
Your information is used to operate the platform, communicate with you about your membership, and send the ICA newsletter (with your consent). We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Third Parties
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform: Clerk (authentication and user management), Supabase (database and storage), Stream Chat (direct and group messaging), Daily.co (video calls), Cloudflare (video and image hosting for the archive), Stripe (payment processing for Fellowship support and donations), Google (Google Cloud Translation, for on-demand translation of text you choose to translate), Google Analytics (aggregate site usage and measuring sign-ups from our Google Ad Grants search ads), and Vercel (application hosting). Each provider has its own privacy policy governing their use of data, and each receives only the data necessary to perform its function.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session and remember your preferences. Authentication cookies are set by Clerk and are strictly necessary for the platform to function. Google Analytics sets cookies to measure site usage; for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland it runs without cookies by default. We do not use these cookies for ad personalization or remarketing. Use the Privacy choices link in the page footer to allow or decline Google Analytics, or opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at privacy@cardistry.org. You can also download your data or delete your account directly from your settings page. Some records are kept after deletion where the law allows: Fellowship payment history is retained for tax and accounting compliance, and clips you contributed to the public archive remain, shown under a placeholder name rather than yours.
Children
cardistry.org is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Accounts are for people 13 and older. When a parent or guardian enrolls a child in a class or program, we collect only the parent or guardian's name and email address, and we do not create an account for the child. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, write to privacy@cardistry.org and we will delete it.
