Stephen Simalchik serves as board chair of the International Cardistry Association. He brings a decade of experience in the U.S. nonprofit association industry and currently serves as Director of Engagement at the American College of Emergency Physicians.

Known as “fiddlingsteve” in the 2000s, Stephen was a daily visitor to Decknique, DanandDave.com, and theory11. After a hiatus from the community, he returned to bring his association experience to ICA’s governance and help establish a thriving nonprofit that supports the entire cardistry community.

He remains a devoted student of the Five Faces of Sybil. His studies continue on Instagram at @sybil.studies.

Kyle Tran is the co-chair of the International Cardistry Association. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, he works as a Video Producer, bringing various commercial and corporate projects to life.

Joining the cardistry community in 2015, Kyle discovered a vibrant culture across in-person, tinychat, and Skype jams. As he began documenting in-person jams, he developed a passion for filmmaking, eventually leading to him producing numerous cardistry videos across the United States. Through the ICA, Kyle aims to grow and foster the community that first inspired him to begin shuffling.

Michael Stern serves as Treasurer of the International Cardistry Association. He has been involved with the cardistry community for more than a decade, most notably as a host and MC of Cardistry Con, where he has spent years helping bring the community together both on and off the stage.

A graduate of UC Berkeley with a degree in Economics, Michael brings a mix of organizational experience, financial know-how, and a genuine love for the people and culture that make cardistry what it is.

After watching the community grow for so long, he’s excited to help build what comes next for cardistry and the ICA.

Richard’s interest in cards began around 2003. From 2005 to 2009, he created and ran Decknique, a popular online community where he proposed and helped popularize the term “cardistry.” He later joined theory11, remaining involved in the cardistry and magic communities.

Richard has long enjoyed combining technology with his creative interests, eventually pursuing a career in software engineering. He continues to follow the evolution of cardistry and hopes to bring his experience in technology and community building to the International Cardistry Association.
